Description
From the archive of noted James Brownj historian, Alan Leeds. This UNISSUED test record was tentatively scheduled for release in 1970 as King 6327 - I STAY IN THE CHAPEL (JUST WON'T DO RIGHT) / I'LL WORK IT OUT by Marva Whitney, produced by James Brown. The record was cancelled when Ms. Whitney abruptly quit the Brown organization. The "A" side was never released with Whitney's vocal. However, the track was later assigned to Lyn Collins for new vocals and released in 1971. The "B" side had been previously issued in 1968 on King 6181 and on an album.
Test pressings were only distributed to King Records and James Brown Productions execs thus pressed in very small numbers. Few survived as most were eventually scrapped so they can be considered very rare.
