BBE's J Jazz Masterclass series comes up with the goods once again, taking a dive into a rare 1977 private press album from Masaru Imada Trio +1. Planets is but one part of Masaru Imada's long and winding career, but it's surely one of the records to treasure the most. Just listen to the delicate wonder of the title track, which feels lighter than air as illustrious sweeps of piano tickle past your ears with the patient touch of a true master. As you would expect with BBE, great attention to detail has been taken over reproducing the original artwork, and it now comes with extra photos and a 3000 word sleeve note from Tony Higgins, including an interview with Imada himself.
