Description
Maurice McCormick & Maji "15 Minutes" (5:53) b/w "Reall Deall" (4:38) in just opened from STILL SEALED state 12" single on Atomic Art AA-1201 from 1981. I had previously had this 12"er up for auction as a STILL SEALED copy, which had light liquid staining around both sides of the generic white halfsleeve that had caused some puckering to the cardboard sleeve, and I was unable to tell if the staining had transferred to the inner sleeve or the vinyl record. After many questions about this potential condition issue, I finally decided to open this 12"er to view the condition of the inner sleeve and vinyl record. As I did this, I recorded a video in case the winning bid wanted confirmation showing the STILL SEALED condition and my opening the shrink wrap, checking the inner sleeve and the vinyl record, which hadn't been touched by any type of moisture or staining and looked just as it would have on the day it was released 33-years ago. Oddly, upon opening this record, I found an approximately 2" x 3.75" single-sided partial Dash Records label (distributed by T.K. Productions) in between the A-side vinyl and the inside of the inner sleeve, which I'm including with this 12"er to keep this item as originally found. Like any low-run PRIVATE PRESS record that is freshly opened, I found a some slight, hazy sleeve/manufacturing marks to both sides of the vinyl.
In light of the rarity of this item and having been freshly opened after 33-years, I thought it would be important to include a sound sample (4:18-long ) from both sides of this 12"er to show the high condition quality of the sound of the vinyl of this record. I've included a portions from the beginning, middle and end of both sides of the record in this auction. The last 4 photos attached below are of this 12"er in the original STILL SEALED condition, with the first 3 showing this 12"er in just opened condition. This is a RARE & COOL Maurice McCormick & Maji/boogie/funk/modern soul collectible, make sure you bid on this today!!!
