Audibly: Played with strong fidelity and some occasional and infrequent audio interference. Two audible ticks can be heard at the very beginning of side one. No skips, no jumps.
COVER CONDITION
The covers of the promo copies of this LP are different from the stock releases. This cover features Max Roach at the drum kit with a timing strip affixed to the cover with the sleeve opening to the left (instead of the traditional right side opening). Stock issues featured a profile of Roach on the cover.
The condition of the cover is a strong VG with minor shelf wear. There is writing on the front cover (see explanation below regarding the writing). There is some minor soiling and a few stain marks.
NOTE ABOUT THE WRITING
I purchased this LP from a sessions musician and this LP seems to have been a gift intended for famed drummer Ramon Lopez. The writing on the cover appears to be a thank you note for Lopez who was an admirer of Max Roach. Lopez credits Roach as his inspiration for his love of music and the drums.
The message reads: “To Ramon Lopez, Thanks for helping me out with my chops. Good Luck on the road, Sach and Marcy TSU Jazz Ensemble 76”.
