MAYPOLE self-titled LP released on Colossus Records Stereo (CS-1007). Great lost classic psych prog heavy rock Lp. Hit me slowly but with a few listens in the "proper" frame of mind, this obscure record really does have that cool unique hippy hard rockin' vibe; great "pop" styled vocals, with plenty of cosmic guitar action and upbeat rhythmic posturings to satisfy. Never mind the crazy comparisons to Ill Wind and Neighb'rhood Children (ala Fuzz Acid and Flowers: not sure what was smokin' here) although this is complimentary in terms of excellent music for all three bands; agreed; however Maypole is heavy Hendrix-ladened guitar-driving psych prog rock.

COVER: VG+ No tears, or seam splits; some edge wear. Front cover: small 2" smear patch top left corner; the rest, virtually no wear. Back cover: some soilage; small "For Demonstration Use Only, Not For Sale" sticker in the upper right corner. VINYL: Some lite marks, both from handling and lite press streaks from manufacture. No real scratches ( no deep marks into vinyl). Plays VG+ side one with some background noise/occasional pop, not overwhelming; Side 2 plays VG++ with very little background noise/occasional pop. No continual stick pops/ crackle, or skips. Loud recording, so not at all disturbing. LABEL: couple lite spindle marks on each side; label says, "Promotional Copy, Not For Sale" on yellow background
