M.B. "Carcinosi" LP privately issued by M.B. (M.B. 832) in Italy, 1983. ****** Rec:m / Cov:ex ****** Originally issued as a private LP in a very limited edition in 1983. De-composition for bionic organisms and concrete sounds. A sound that refuses both the cold logic of the fetish electronic computer-man-of-the-year and the sterile exasperation of the negative. A sound that dilutes and coagulates, eluding the listeners with minimal variations that make the cyclic style of Phillip Glass resemble a carousel of colors. If there is one M.B. record to own, it's "Carcinosi", the synthesis of the obsessive synth squallor found on his early work like "Symphony for a Genocide" and the frigid drone exasperation of his finale "Armaghedon". Originally self-released by M.B. in 1983 "Carcinosi" is part two of his diptych of "bionic music" along side "Endometrio". The metaphors of cancer mutating within a technologic body parallel a text in which Bianchi refer to this work as a warning of another Auschwitz. Bianchi's "Carcinosi" masterfully actualizes his grim metaphors with a mesmeric carousel of dark fractures of muted noise and disorienting synthetic pulsations smothered in a heavily saturated wall of delay. This album deliver similar hauntingly devastating, shocking atmosphere offered in M.B. first radical primitive electronic essays. The compositions are much more achieved (molecular noises, microphones, feedback and tape manipulations) and present clearer musical motifs but it remains very cloudy, industrial and chaotic. A sentiment of desolation and death is floating on the album. This is M.B. at his most uncompromising peak, exploring neurotic musical techniques to infiltrate the mental structure of the listener, a very dark anti melodic hypnosis. Closed to Sacher Pelz's infectious electronic attacks. Recommended for fans of Kluster. Classic electro experimental industrial underground but not progressive. The dense, corrosive, melancholic and spacey soundscapes are for later recordings. ****** Some aging of cover, with minimal ring wear on front mostly noticeable since the cover is black (see picture).
