The 33 1/3 rpm records that I sell are from my private collection. All were purchased new by me, over the past 55 years. They have been very carefully handled and stored. Records were played with a state of the art turntable and cartridge. Records will be shipped in special cardboard packaging and will include a plastic jacket cover. Grading has been done very conservatively (due to the subjective nature of grading) and was based on the following criteria set forth in the "Goldmine Standard Catalog Of American Records 1950-1990, 8th Edition, Copyright 2012".
Near Mint (NM) Criteria:
- Record: Looks as if it just came from a retail store and was opened for the first time. Shiny surface, free of visible defects. No surface noise present at playback. Records can retain NM condition after many plays provided the record has been played on a properly equipped turntable and has been cared for properly.
- Labels: Properly pressed and centered on the record. Free from writing, stickers, spindle marks, blemishes or other markings.
- Cover: Free of creases, ring wear, splits and cut-out markings.
Very Good (VG+) Criteria: Except for a few minor condition issues or slight signs of wear, these records would be near mint. Most collectors will be happy with a VG+ record, especially if it is toward the high end of the grade, which will be rated VG++.
- Record: May have light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are acceptable. May include some minor signs of handling, such as marks around the center hole (but the hole is not misshapen). Light ring wear or discoloration may be present, but barely noticeable.
- Labels: Free of writing, stickers or major blemishes.
- Cover: Outer cover may show some minor seam wear or a split less than an inch along the bottom, which is the most vulnerable location. A cut-out marking may be present.
