BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL 1968 pressing of this psych pop CLASSIC from Merrell Fankhauser and (His Trusty) H.M.S. Bounty - "a heart warmin' lip-lickin' foot-stompin' pulse-poundin' hip-swingin' mother of a super new album called THINGS!" (hey, that's what the front cover says) on the Shamley label. He's right - it's all those things and more - 12 California sun-baked mind blowing acid psych cuts, like the trippy "In A Minute Not Too Soon" and the best sitar-laced raga rock song ever, the original version of "A Visit With Ashiya". Jangly 12-strings compete with waspy fuzz guitar all over this album - why this isn't as famous as anything by the Byrds or the Buffalo Springfield - its West Coast contemporaries and equals back then - is a complete mystery. Simply put - the BEST psychedelic pop album EVER that had a nipple on the cover. This original pressing is in SUPERB shape - it's been lovingly kept in my collection for the past 20 years and the vinyl is mark-free - almost looks unplayed. It plays with very little if any surface noise, a solid EXCELLENT on the grading scale. The cover has just the slightest hint of ring wear on the front top and bottom, and a very small cutout hole that's hardly even noticeable. I'd grade it a strong VG++.
