Metal Massacre Year: 1982 "Metal Massacre" was the first release for Metal Blade Records (MBR-1001) and was a compilation of unsigned metal bands. The first pressing on Metal Blade contained 10 tracks. It started off with the song "Cold Day In Hell" by Steeler and also featured the song "Tell The World" by Ratt. The album closed with the song "Hit The Lights" by Metallica, whose name was misspelled as "Mettallica". Although bassist Ron McGovney and guitarist Dave Mustaine were credited in the album's notes, the track was actually only featured James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich with lead guitar assistance from Lloyd Grant. Subsequent repressings of the compilation saw the Steeler and Ratt tracks omitted, with Black 'N' Blue's "Chains Around Heaven" being added as the album's opener. THE GLOSSY VINYL IS IN VG++ CONDITION WITH ONLY A FEW LIGHT MARKS AND CLEAN LABELS, PLAYS GREAT. THE COVER, STILL IN THE SHRINK WRAP, IS IN VG++ CONDITION WITH NO SEAM SPLITTING OR WRITING. CLEANED ON A VPI RECORD CLEANER.
