Description
MFSL 2-501 (2 LP’s) Elgar – Falstaff Symphonic Study, The Sanguine Fan Ballet, Fantasia and Fugue in C minor (transcription from J. S. Bach), Sir Adrian Boult, London Philharmonic Orchestra, same as EMI ASD-2970 (1974) – This original master audiophile recording was pressed in Japan with the meticulous care that made Mobile Fidelity famous. The analogue recording has been highly praised for its natural and musical sound. The original EMI version of the Bach-Elgar Fantasia and Fugue in C Minor has been on HP's TAS Super LP List for many years, and HP was right (as he usually was) - the sound is to die for, with amazing ambiance and imaging, and the bass notes are VERY powerful and VERY deep. The vinyl on this copy is essentially perfect – I purchased it myself in the early 80’s and have played it only twice since then. The surfaces are clean, glossy, and exceptionally quiet – I noticed only one very light tic. The vinyl is VERY quiet, with NO marks - it looks and plays mint (M). The labels also look new. The gatefold jacket shows minor shelf wear and grades EX (see photos). In summary, this is a beautiful copy of this famous audiophile recording. Feel free to return for a full refund if not completely satisfied. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - please pay shipping through eBay's Global Shipping Program.
