Description
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL or MoFi) is a re-issue record label known as an innovator in the production of audiophile quality sound recordings. The label's 'Original Master Recording' releases are created from the first-generation analog master recordings via a custom-engineered tape machine. MFSL has issued titles on LP, cassette tape, DAT, CD and SACD. Each title is licensed from the original record company for a limited period of time and production runs are usually restricted to a few thousand units each.
This auction is for a vintage (20+ years old) Original Master Recording/Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) LIMITED EDITION LP, HOLST: THE PLANETS (see pics). This LP is catalog number MFQR 1-510.
LP includes Technical Specifications Manual and UHQR Certificate of Authenticity. LP packageing is still sealed so the Limited Edition number is unknown.
LP was performed by Sir Georg Solti conducting the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
LP is titled - Holst: The Planets, and was recorded in 1978 in Kingsway Hall, London. Engineers Kenneth Wilkinson and Andrew Pinder.
LP is Stereo, was produced by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab and was pressed in Japan (JVC Super Vinyl).
LP is 33 rpm, 12 inch. Vinyl weight is reportedly 180 - 220 gram.
Condition: Contents are GEM/MINT/FACTORY SEALED. Please note that there are some very minor external surface dings and a split of the shrink-wrap on the top left corner (also minor).
