Description

If you have come to look at this, there is not a lot that I can tell you because you already know what it is! The ultimate quality rendition of one of the iconic works of music of the 20th Century.The Holy Grail!

The statistics support this assertion:

* Guinness Book of World Records for being on the charts longer than any album in history: 591 consecutive weeks, or 11.4 years.

* 14 years in and out of the top 200 selling albums.

* 26 years appearing in one Billboard chart or another.

What I really personally love about it is the fact that the artists don't even need to get a mention on the cover. The title says it all!

Condition is pretty near pristine, with a couple of blemishes as noted in the photos. This piece has been stored in it's original shipping container from the wholesaler for the past 25 years, with only an occasional removal for 'appreciation'. Sealed, unopened and perfect.

What appears to be crinkling of the cellophane in the second photograph is in fact a reflection from the blinds in the background.

It is one of a limited edition of 5,000 (actual serial number unknown for obvious reasons). Most of these 5,000 will have been unwrapped and played with unknown consequences as record playback arms and stylii are notorious for the damage they can cause if any of the many setup variables are not optimal.

This is even more the case with UHQR records, as the turntable/arm combination would have to be exclusively set up to play a record with the extra thickness of a UHQR. That would be a serious inconvenience, and would have lead to a large number of people simply not being bothered to calibrate the angle of the arm properly, with guaranteed damage ensuing to the walls of the groove of the LP (and possibly the stylus, for that matter).

This is an opportunity to guarantee a sublime high fidelity experience (should your system be of a standard to justify actually opening and playing this record) or simply a piece of history that belongs in a frame on the wall!

People will spend tens of thousands to obtain the latest piece of electronics to fine tune their hifi, but without something like this at the beginning of the chain, all is in vain. You can't improve a less than ideal source, and it doesn't come any better than this.

It was always my ambition to have the requisite hifi to encourage me to open this package, but never quite got there, partly because my neighbours would have had me evicted anyway!
