Up for auction is the MFSL release of Richard Rogers' "Victory At Sea" 3 Lp set, half-speed mastered from the Original Master Tapes, specially plated and pressed on High Definition Super Vinyl by the Victor Company of Japan, catalog # MFSL 3-150. Mobile Fidelity box set of "Victory At Sea " (MFSL 3-150). The music was composed by Richard Rodgers and performances are by Robert Russell Bennett conducting the RCA Symphony Orchestra. The score won a Grammy Award for best engineering in a classical recording. The set includes an elaborate booklet (in mint condition), that was reproduced from the original text and photos that accompanied the three individually released volumes of Victory At Sea in the mid-1950's. They include first person commentary by the series' creator and producer Henry Salomon and its arranger-conductor Robert Russell. This set is getting to be almost impossible to locate, even on E-bay. Don't let this opportunity slip past your fingers. The vinyl is in "VG+" condition, there are a few very light hairline scratch marks on Lp # 1, side 2, Lp # 2 , side 1 and on both sides of Lp # 3. (Only when viewed under the the most extreme lighting conditions are the marks even visible.) The outside box is in Mint- condition. Each of the 3 Lps is housed in a seperate cover. All 3 covers are in VG+ condition with some small aesthetic flaws. There are no seam splits or ring wear on any of the cover. The winning bidder will pay $7.00 for U.S. Mail's "media mail" service, including $100 worth of insurance . The Lp box set will be padded in bubble wrap and mailed in an oversized box.
