AIRBORNE NBP0021: MICHAEL GARRICK SEXTET 'Jazz Praises At St.Paul's'
UK jazz rarity from 1968, this is a session, as its title suggests, recorded live at London's famous cathedral. It was Garrick's attempt at something similar to Ellington's sacred concerts, one of which was recorded in Westminster Abbey. Garrick (organ) was joined by Ian Carr (tp/fl-h), Art Themen/Jim Philip (reeds/fl), Coleridge Goode (b) and John Marshall (d) plus choirs. This is a mono pressing with flipback cover on Garrick's own private label. As an insert there is black & white glossy photograph of Garrick sitting at the organ in St. Paul's Cathedral.

CONDITION/DESCRIPTION: The disc is EtoE+ (VG+toVG++) with a few light to very light scratches only, visible under a bright 'grading' light. These have little affect on the playing. The cover is E (VG+), with minor corner damage and surface scratching. There is also some surface creasing and shadowing visible both front and back, together with a line of heavy rubbing near to the top (front only - see photo). In the top left hand corner of the front, there is a small patch of residue from the removal of a sticky label.
