Rare original 2-LP Box Set of the Michael Garrick Sextet and poetry.
The 250th Programme of Poetry & Jazz in Concert, recorded live at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, June 22nd 1969, featuring poets:
Dannie Abse, Thomas Blackburn, Douglas Hill, Laurie Lee, Spike Milligan, Jeremy Robson, Vernon Scannell & John Smith.

Michael Garrick - Piano, Don Rendell - Saxes, Art Themen – Saxes, Ian Carr - Trumpet, Dave Green - Bass, Trevor Tomkins - Drums
Sadly, Michael, Ian Carr and several of the poets are no longer with us – so these recordings are a valuable snapshot of an historic meeting of words and music.
This is an ex-library set I bought years ago. Both records are in excellent condition. There are very feint lines, hadly visible and they play very well. There is a small sticker on each label. It is complete with inner booklet with recording details.
The box is excellent and has been laminated for protection. There’s no corner splits or damage with writing and stamp in the lid. They obviously hadn’t been borrowed much!
