MICHAEL JACKSON: Thriller
On offer here is a rare test pressing by Michael Jackson called ' Thrilller ’ that was made by Hungarian
Recordplant in 1983, but never issued in Hungary !. It was produced for Yugoslavia. As Hungarian
issue exist only in this form. The playing surfaces have light hairline marks only caused by inner
sleeve. The record looks EX(-) / NM , and the sound quality is near mint.The matrix numbers are:
85930 A 1 MG / 85930 B 1 MG. On the A side of the label the cat.nr,the press of the date and the
signature of the controller can be found.The original and official Yugoslavian labels are glued
on the front of the cover and above the labels there is a writing (probably by the sound
engineer) :’ Same as the tape 1983.07.16. ’
The Hungarian Recordplants made a lot of records because of the various countries’ orders.
The most of test records were made with official Hungarian Recordplant’s label and they have
never been released in Hungary. They exist as Hungarian publishing only in this form,so these
are extremely rare.
