Michael Jackson:
Thriller (Album Version) b/w Thriller (Re-mix Short Version) / Things I Do For You (The Jacksons, Live).1983 UK pressed Epic Records 12" with calendar insert housed in special unique "1984 Calendar" sleeve, TA 3643.
Vinyl has clearly been played a few times, and shows a number of spider trail marks at centre spindle areas. Surfaces display a fair few superficial hairline scuff marks, many of which are visible, and some greying spots. There are no deep scratches however, and playback of tracks is mostly clean and free of crackle or ticks.There is some audible crackle at run ins and silent bands between tracks. This only really encroaches onto tracks themselves at the beginning of side one, where it is heard in the spoken introduction, but clears up as the track starts proper.
Labels are clean and undefaced.
Calender insert is in excellent condition. Shows no signs of having been removed from the sleeve or displayed, and has just an absolute minimum of handling creasing. No tears, heavy creases, marks or stains. A visible entry to the calendar is actually Michael's birthday, which is printed on from manufacture and not a later addition.
Sleeve in excellent condition. Clean and unmarked and with just traces of creasing along the outline of the vinyl, all very minor. No seam splits.
All in all, a very nicely preserved example, bar the vinyl. However, it is the sleeve and calendar insert that are the gems here. The 12" contained within is the standard version, and could easily be replaced should an upgrade be desired.
A Note On Grading:Note that audio grading is subjective and based on sensitivity of equipment used for playback. In this instance playback has been tested on a vintage Technics Quartz Direct Drive SL1700 MKII turntable with Shure cartridge, Technics SU-C 03 amp and Technics SB-F2 Linear Phase speakers.
Also note that I generally do not clean vinyl unless so noted. Most vinyl will show improved playback quality with your preferred cleaning method, but I leave this to the prospective buyer, as controversy still surrounds the ideal method of cleaning vinyl.
