This record is the original vinyl release of an important avante garde electronic music composition created by Michel Chion. Released in France as part of the GRM Collection on the INA label, AM 689.05, circa 1976.
The cover is Excellent, and has only minor handling and slight ringwear [primarily noticed on the back]. The record is as new, appears unplayed [although it has been], and is unmarked.
Inside the gatefold cover, on the right side, is inscribed in fine black pen: "To Philip K. Dick, with my great admiration Michel Chion".
This was presented to PKD in person by Chion at the Science Fiction Convention that was held in Metz, France during September 23-25, 1977. Philip K. Dick was Guest of Honor, and he delivered a major address to the attendees, "If You Find This World Bad‚ You Should See Some of the Others" [aka the Metz Speech]. 
Small sections of this speech are seen in Emiliano Larre's 2007 film The Penultimate Truth About Philip K. Dick. During those segments are also scenes of the crowd of French fans, and some footage of the audience. The very attractive short dark-haired girl seen in a couple of close-ups was Phil's traveling companion at the time and they also shared residences in California. He left the record at her house some time after the trip. This woman passed away a number of years ago, and the album came to me from her estate.
This provenance is impeccable, and can be provided by me for the winner, if so desired.
Any copy of this record is itself already quite rare. The addition of this specific example's incredible history makes it an amazing and unique artifact.

BACKGROUND: 
Michel Chion - born in 1947 in Creil, France, is a composer of experimental music. He teaches at several institutions within France and currently holds the post of Associate Professor at the University of Paris III: Sorbonne Nouvelle where he is a theoretician and teacher of audio-visual relationships.
After studying literature and music he began to work for the ORTF (French Radio and Television Organisation) Service de La recherche as assistant to Pierre Schaeffer in 1970. He was a member of the Groupe de Recherches Musicales (GRM) between 1971 - 1976.
His compositional pieces elaborate on schaeffarian theories and methodologies which Schaeffer referred to as musique concrète.
He has also written a number of books as well as essays expounding his theories of the interaction between sound and image within the medium of film.
In particular, the book titled L’audio-vision. Son et image au cinéma, originally published in France in 1990, has been considered by the critics as the definitive book on the relations between sound and image, which are described as two different languages within the multimedia art form, discussing the argument from both technical-linguistic and aesthetic points of view, where before it was discussed principally in terms of narrative implications.
