THE YA HA WHOOPIE BAND - "Ride The Music / Shake Your Mind" 
Private Michigan release 45 circa 1969
Visually graded condition of disc:   Near Mint   (never been played) 

(I've sat on this disc for 40+ years. I don't have an extra copy, only one, therefore, I can't offer any clips since my policy is to sell 'unplayed' records.
I know I heard this disc, but it was too many eons ago, so I have no recollection of it. From what I'm gathering, it's obscenely rare.
I'm sure the band brought this into our radio station and played it for us, but we didn't give it airplay. That's the best I can do.

What I'm going to do here, is give you a 'copy and paste' of two previous sellers descriptions as to what this disc meant to them.
My research tells me that there have been only two copies of this previously on Ebay.

SELLER #1 : This auction is for "SHAKE YOUR MIND" b/w "RIDE THE MUSIC" by the YA HA WHOOPIE BAND on CAMELOT RECORDS. This is a absolutely legendary private press Holy Grail 45, a record that only the deepest of the deep psych garage collectors occasionally talked about, but never actually saw proof of it's true existence. Well, here it is in it's absolute killer floor frying splendor! I do believe this band was out of the Detroit area; the 45 was located in Michigan near Detroit & the etching in the dead wax reads "GM East Det." which also hints at this being true. This record is insanely rare, I have never seen or heard of another copy being sold or even owned anywhere else, ever...it's the stuff of psych garage dreams!!! Even the label looks amazing with it's black lettering on metallic silver label! Please do take a listen to the excerpts below taken directly from the actual 45. I have set the opening bid low with no reserve. Don't miss out on this one, it is likely the only one you'll ever see for sale in your life!

SELLER # 2: Is this 45 known to the garage / psych collectors at all? No info to be found except when I bought this one a few months back. Asked with a couple of garage collectors I know and no one have heard it and they have been in the garage 45 collecting game for over 20 years both of them. The guy I bought this off thought it might be from Michigan, a great small label  or private press on Camelot. If someone have more info about this one let me know - I do believe is is one of the rarest pieces around cause a good garage psych 45 like this does not stay under the radar (nothing on google, not on any comps)

Well there you have it, better than no description at all. The first seller was incorrect, though. This is a Grand Rapids record, not Detroit. I remember these guys.
I'm not the type to over-hype my opinion in my listings, I think my regulars are thankful. If you win, and it's a great record? Then, everybody's happy.
If it's not? Well...I did my job in putting this out there for the 'real' collectors.
After all, most sellers in here don't offer clips. My inclusion of clips in all of my auctions/sales is a major extra workload. I think my happy customers are 'also' thankful for that.
But it seems selfish to not list something because I can't let you hear it. Sales of that nature go on in here every single day.

The most important thing you need to know, is that to the absolute best of my knowledge,
nearly all of the records I list, unless otherwise noted, have never ever been played on a turntable.

These records were sorted, stored, moved a few times, and then stored again for decades.
Some carefully, others were not.
All of my gradings are strictly visual, and more often than not, quite generous. However, because of various quality
in pressings, I cannot guarantee that the pressings themselves will be noise-free. That comes with the territory.
Many 50's (e.g. Chess, Vee-Jay, etc.) & 60's pressings, especially the small independent labels, were
pressed "on-the-cheap" and are somewhat noisy even at NrMint.

I will not play these records for any reason. The record you receive will be like new and unplayed.

MY GRADING SCALE
(very similar to the Goldmine standard)

ALL RECORDS I SELL, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, ARE VISUALLY GRADED AND UNPLAYED!

NM (Near Mint): Record will show no serious scuffs or scratches in the playing area. May have minor scuffs on edges from decades of storage, or a small scuff, scratch or paper scuff on playing area.
It's near mint, not mint (which would be 'sealed' to me). There should be no audible distractions.
M- (Near Mint minus): A scuff or two or light scratch or two on either or both sides that may be heard.
VG+: Scuffs & some minor scratches in the playing area. Some will most likely be heard.
VG: Many scuffs or scratches that will be heard but record should still play fine.

Record grading is subjective. That's why I offer a money back guarantee on

USA: All 45's shipped to US destinations will go FIRST CLASS MAIL. $3.25 for the first, $1 each additional 45.
If your fee is $4.00 that means your package will also be fully insured.
OVERSEAS: $6.50 for the first single, $1 each additional. I've been having problems with lost packages to ITALY, SPAIN, and RUSSIA. Depending on the value of the record, I may require buyers in those countries to pay for REGISTERED MAIL.
