Description

Up for auction is a copy of I Can Live Without You b/w I Thought I Could by Mickey Jones and The Triumphs, released on Magic Lamp circa 1966, cat no ML 705. The 45 features Joe Osborn & Larry Knechtel (who also wrote both sides), but besides being a busman’s holiday for the Wrecking Crew, the a-side also boasts a young Karen Carpenter on backing vocals, as confirmed by Jones himself back in 2009 on the “Insights & Sounds” blog. For the record, Karen’s official debut release (Looking For Love b/w I’ll Be Yours) was Magic Lamp ML 704.

Condition: plenty of gloss on the vinyl, but there are a few non-sounding surface marks. Still sounds great, but visually VG. Labels are problem-free.

My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item pictured here is the item for sale.
