The Oil Rag is a promotional newspaper issued by the Australian rock band Midnight Oil along with releases of some of their studio albums. There were six volumes of the Oil Rag.

There also was a 1983 release of the same concept for the album 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ("Oil Change", 4 pages) that was not yet officially named Oil Rag. The Oil Rag among others contained pictures, magazine articles, album lyrics, album and concert reviews and band interviews, and was distributed with promotional album releases or in response to fan mail.

Oil Rag ist eine von der australischen Rockband Midnight Oil herausgegebene Werbezeitung als Beilage einiger ihrer Studioalben. Es gab sechs Alben mit Oil Rags.

Es gab auch eine 1983er Veröffentlichung des gleichen Konzepts für das Album 10,9,9,8,7,7,6,5,4,4,3,2,1 ("Oil Change", 4 Seiten), das noch nicht offiziell Oil Rag hieß. Er enthielt unter anderem Bilder, Zeitschriftenartikel, Albumtexte, Album- und Konzertkritiken sowie Bandinterviews und wurde mit Promo-Album-Veröffentlichungen oder als Antwort auf Fanpost verteilt.

Wir bewerten alle Platten sehr sorgfältig visuell unter einer starken Strahlerlampe und, falls erforderlich, auch akustisch auf einem High-Tech Plattenspieler nach den UK RECORD COLLECTOR Standards:

M > MINT : Die Platte ist brandneu ohne jegliche Gebrauchsspuren oder Einschränkungen in der Klangqualität. Das Cover sowie Textblätter, Poster, Booklets usw. sind ebenfalls in perfekter Qualität.

EX > EXZELLENT : Die Platte zeigt nur minimale Abspielspuren und Abstriche an der Klangqualität sind sehr gering. Ähnliches gilt für das Cover.

VG > VERY GOOD : Man sieht der Platte an, daß sie des öfteren abgespielt worden ist; leichte Kratzer und Gebrauchsspuren sind vorhanden. Die Klangqualität ist jedoch noch gut. Das Cover hat Gebrauchsspuren, jedoch keine größeren Schäden.

M > MINT : The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EX > EXCELLENT : The record shows few signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VG > VERY GOOD : The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

G > GOOD : We do not to sell records that are in less than very good condition, unless they are extremely rare. Please see our individual description for these items.
