MIKE OLDFIELD

"TUBULAR BELLS"

This LP has sold millions and millions of copies since it's release in 1973.
Charity shops, bargain bins and boot sales are full of them.

At the time of it's original UK release however, this LP sold very poorly. It wasn't until John Peel picked up on the record some weeks later that it really began to sell. By this time the design of the sleeve and labels had been changed and the LP was on to its second printing.

Original first pressings are now very rare (and still sound better than any later LP pressings and any CD reissue!)

So here it is.........Original UK 1st Pressing:

CATALOGUE: Virgin V2001

Original black and white Virgin label design.

Original laminated single sleeve made by the E.J.Day Group (later sleeves are matt)

Original Notting Hill Gate address on rear (later pressings have the Vernon's Yard address)

MATRIX INFO

A-2U / B-3U MATRIX
(A1 and B1, B2 were used for the test pressings of this LP)

CONDITION

This SLEEVE is absolutely mint and perfect! Looks like it was made yesterday.

The RECORD has been played perhaps once/twice and is in stunning Near Mint Condition.
Just one/two small light spindle mark.

Original Inner sleeve with usual tanning to edges.

A stunning copy of this legendary LP.
Real first pressings never turn up.

This belongs in a museum. Over to you Mr Branson.....
