MILES DAVIS BITCHES BREW. 1st UK PRESSING. S-66236-A1/B1/C1/D1. VINYL GRADES EX. GATEFOLD COVER GOOD+.
My listening equipment is a highly revealing Yamaha PF-800 turntable (top quality suspended sub-chassis deck), pre/power amps and B&W Matrix Reference speakers. Before listing I always clean LPs on a vacuum record cleaning machine and I always determine audio quality by playing the LP not just by visual inspection. For this LP I have used an Ortofon OM10 MM cartridge.
Played on my system, this LP grades Excellent. Side one has the occasional soft or medium click hidden in the mix. Midway through the side there is a short passage of about ten medium clicks. Side two has a trace of very minor background noise to the quiet intro and the odd random medium click only mentioned for accuracy. Side three plays through without any issue. Side four has some brief very minor background noise to the intro of Miles Runs the Voodoo Down which is not intrusive and a couple of medium clicks later in the track. Sanctuary has some minor background noise to occasional quiet parts. Overall I am happy to grade the vinyl Excellent.
As is usual for first pressings of this album, the unlaminated gatefold cover shows wear to the front, spine and edges, plus some ringwear. I’ve taken lots of photos of the cover (including angled and close-up shots) so you can judge the condition for yourself. Apart from the spine and ringwear, most of the other imperfections are only noticeable under close inspection and I personally grade the cover Good+.
Both records are housed in their original CBS advertising inner sleeves.
Will be well packaged for safe transit.
