Description
Up for auction is my original 1959 pressing of Miles Davis’ album “Kind Of Blue”. This is quite the collectible. My father bought this album brand new and has been in our family ever since, and in storage for over 20 years. It probably hasn’t been played in over 30 years.
The jacket is in great condition for it’s age, sharp corners. There are no frays, creases, rips or tears. On the front is a minor scratch in the E of Miles’ name. On the back is standard shelf wear, and initials printed in the upper right. There is a small piece of gold tape that at one time sealed the jacket. I’ve taken pictures of these blemishes. They are minor if that. Overall the jacket is still crisp.
Vinyl is also in fantastic shape. You can see on the label with “Kind Of Blue” printed on one line, that indicates the 1959 pressing. XSM47326-1AL H II is etched in the dead wax on side 1...XSM47327-1BH HH is etched on side 2. There are some standard needle drags and minor scuffs on the vinyl, I cleaned it myself. Unfortunately I no longer own a turntable so I am unable to give it a listen test.
