Description
MILES DAVIS LP PORGY AND BESS Originally a 1959 release. This copy is a 1965 US COLUMBIA 2 EYE STEREO PRESSING CAT#CS8085. With the original pressings increasingly more difficult to find, and especially in pristine shape, the early 60's copies have become more sought after. This copy is as sweet as you could ask for. The cover is amazing, and all but NEAR MINT, but there's some foxing on the back cover along the opening. This looks like it was the result of direct sunlight. However, on the list of what's important about the condition of a record, the back cover probably is towards the bottom of the priorities list..
COVER VG+. A beautiful, very well kept copy. The front cover shines as if it was new. There is some rim pressing noticeable from an angle. AS noted above there's foxing on the back cover along the opening, and 2 foxing spots on each side of "MILES DAVIS" (see photos)
VINYL. VG+ It's a fantastic play, super clean, but there is a mark on side 2 thats pretty long. It's superficial, and NOT audible. There is low background surface sound. It's very low, and not anywhere close to the music volume. This is noticeable more with quiet, and subtle recordings like this. Lastly, there's a small warp to the LP that's just a small lift on one side. It's not big enough to cause any tracking problems at all, but you will see a slight lift at every turn at the beginning of each side.
OG INNERS -- Are toned from age, and living inside cardboard. It's predominant along one side, in the same way as the back cover.
