Description
MILES DAVIS – MILES DAVIS ALL STARS – PRESTIGE 7076 – 446 W. 50TH ST., N.Y.C. – VG/EX – MONO
There are two Van Gelder sessions on this LP. On Side A was recorded on April 29, 1954, featuring Miles on trumpet, J.J. Johnson on trombone. Lucky Thompson on tenor, Horace Silver on piano, Percy Heath on bass and Kenny Clarke on drums. SIDE A: WALKIN’ and BLUE “N” BOOGIE. Side B was recorded on April 3, 1954 and features Miles on trumpet, Dave Schildkraut on alto, Horace Silver on piano, Percy Heath on bass and Kenny Clarke on drums. SIDE B: SOLAR; YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT LOVE IS and LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME. “RVG A and RVG B” are stamped on their respected sides on the blank vinyl. The address on the record jacket is 447 West 50th Street, New York 19, N.Y. This is a MONO recording.
I have graded the LP as VG and the record jacket as EX for the following reasons. The LP just misses a VG+ grade, but I know collectors and there is just one too many scratches on the vinyl. None of them interfere with play and not all are heard. However, there is one on Side A: Cut 1, which does pick up the “tick” when played. There are several more, but most are on the surface and cannot be heard. But, in good faith, I cannot pass this along as VG+. There isn’t much wear in the spindle hole, but there are a number of marks around it on both sides. The record jacket, however, is in excellent condition, with no taped or worn seams. There is some slight discoloration on the cover but the layer of plastic remains intact. It is the original cover. There is no sign of wear on the liner notes. With this in mind, please bid accordingly. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.
EXCLUSION STATEMENT! eBay recently excluded the following countries for bids on vinyl records and CDs. Excluded are: Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Latvia, Thailand, Romania, Russian Federation, Vietnam, South Africa and China. If you wish to bid, please contact me through eBay and I can place your eBay ID in a list, which allows you to bid. If you are considering bidding, please do it as soon as possible as I will not be able to do it at the last minute. Once you are on the list, you will be able to bid on future auction. Thanks, Tom
PLEASE NOTE: This will be my last auction until after Labor Day in September, when I will return with more LPs. Thanks for participating in my auctions and I hope all have an enjoyable summer. I hope to see you in September. Tom
PAYMENT & SHIPPING
Satisfaction guaranteed on item. I regret that the USPS has raised their prices. The LP will be well packed. Fully packed in a crush proof box, it weighs 1.8 pounds. Due to increased cost, I have to charge an additional $1.00 for packing in the crush proof box. Believe me, it’s worth it! The method of payment is PayPal. As of October 20, 2008, eBay has decided to make PayPal the only method of payment for this item! This way, eBay has you coming and going! If you are a bidder who prefers to pay by other means, I suggest that you file a complaint! I regret the inconvenience. The LP will be shipped either by Media Rate @ $2.98 or by Priority Mail @ $5.80 and up depending where you reside. Overseas bidders should consider First Class Mail International. The cost to Europe and Asia begins at $20.45 in the crush proof box. It’s worth it! USPS has hammered overseas shipping!
