MILES DAVIS-KIND OF BLUE 1959 COLUMBIA RECORDS (6-EYE LABEL) LP CL 1355 WITH 2 MISPRINTS IN A STRONG VG+ CONDITION. MOSTLY CLEAN VINYL!! Many a critic will tell you that this album is Miles Davis' finest hour, if it isn't, I'd love to hear what it is because this is a flat out masterpiece! Recorded at the famed 30th Street Studio in NYC, it includes his stellar band: pianist Bill Evans, drummer Jimmy Cobb, bassist Paul Chambers, and saxophonists John Coltrane and Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, together with pianist Wynton Kelly on one track. No fan of Miles Davis, the genre or music for that matter should ever be home without it, a true gem in music history!!
Ok, the misprints: The first mistake is the misspelled "Adderly" on the front cover. The other mistake in this album is the flip-flop of the side 2 track listing on the label and the back of the album cover. The correct track listing is 1. All Blues 2. Flamenco Sketches (the labels have them reversed).
Now for the grading: The record is in an easy VG+ condition with just 2 very light hairlines on side 2 & a very small(1/8") light hairline on the beginning of the song Blue In Green. The side 2 hairlines do not hamper play at all, plays well throughout. That little tiny hairline, I caught 2 light pops, no skips. The rest of the record, again, plays well throughout, nice and clean.
The cover has mild wear along the edges, mild rubs on the corners and a tear in the back upper right hand corner(see picture 2). The original inner sleeve is intact. A terrific buy!!
