Description

Minnie Riperton was one of the finest, up and coming Soul / R & B artists of her generation. Her sweet talent was taken by cancer at the young age of 31 in 1979, just as her popularity and career seemed to be reaching an apex. Do have a look at a short biography of Minnie in Wikipedia.

From our photos, you can see our offered collection of unique Minnie Riperton rarities:

1)  a signed copy of the 1st Edition pressing of her 3rd solo album, Adventures in Paradise.

2)  a copy of the August 2, 1979 issue of Jet magazine with Minnie's last interview, and

3)  the announcement of Minnie's passing in the San Francisco Chronicle (newspaper) from July 13, 1979.

4)  a bonus LP:  Minnie.  This would be her final studio album, as she passed away 2 months after its release in 1979.

THE VINYL -  Both of the LP surfaces retain much of their original gloss, with very little spindlewear evident on the Orange and Black Epic labels. The record also has a slight edge warp that does not affect the audio playback.
 
Present on both sides are some light marks, including sleevewear and some hairlines. There are no deep marks, and the audio quality is strong and clear.

THE COVER -  EX :  Please see photos / generally well stored / the front shows faint ringwear and some scuffing / all of the seams, including the spine, are intact with minimal edgewear / no writing (except for Minnie's autograph), no stains, paper loss or dirt.      


We have placed both the cover and the LP into separate, protective plastic sleeves.

Included is the original paper inner sleeve, with lyrics (please see photos).


About the Autograph:  Please see the close-up photo.  It is personalized to "Kathy" (I don't know if Minnie had an actual sister named Kathy.  Minnie was the youngest of 8 children.  Perhaps "Sister Kathy" was more of a "soul sista").

Minnie expresses a wistful desire to be back in her home town and "14 forever", dated "-75-".
In January 1976, the dreadful cancer that would ultimately take her from us was diagnosed, and from her autograph here one wonders if she had a sense of what might lie ahead of her.

More than just an autograph, this is one of the most affecting and heartfelt inscriptions I have ever seen on a cover.
