MINOR THREAT
" Out Of Step "
1983 EP on Dischord Records
DISCHORD 10
with gatefold non-glossy matte paper insert containing lyrics, photos, etc.
There is a photo of the band but it doesn't list their names.
On the rear cover, it is mainly gray / grey with band photos on the right hand side.
No price listed on the front. Just plain black & white greyscale sheep cover.
The price listed on the rear is $3.50 postpaid
Ian MacKaye - Vocals
Steve Hansgen - Bass
Brian Baker - Guitar
Lyle Preslar - Guitar
Jeff Nelson - Drums
Recorded and engineered by Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studios
There are messages etched into the vinyl on the run-out groove or matrix of each side. They say:
"The Soap That Never Ends"
"$3.50 postpaid - cashing in"
The 12" record plays at 45 rpm
Vinyl pre-owned, but in VG+/EX condition. Very minor scuffs/marks. Should not affect play, pop or skip.
Cover has very very minor wear, but is in at least EX+ shape.
It's actually one of the nicest examples of the cover that I've seen in quite a while.
There are NO seam splits. Minor ringwear starting (it's amazing that there isn't more, as the album is 26 years old, and the cover is WHITE!) A couple of edge dings, barely noticeable. A GREAT COPY!

A REALLY NICE COPY!
Out of Step was the sole 12" LP released by American hardcore punk band Minor Threat. It was first released in April 1983 on Dischord Records. Where the lyrics on their early EPs were an outlet for Ian's "message", the lyrics on Out of Step deal mainly with friendships (or problems associated with them).
The original vinyl version of this album is quite different from the one on the Complete Discography comp; most notably the guitar on the bridge & Ian's scream at the end of Out of Step are entirely removed from the CD compilation.
It was ranked 100 on Pitchfork Media's list of the 100 best albums of the 1980s.

Goldmine Grading Standards for VG and VG+/E vinyl is below. Keep in mind that much of this auction is better than these grades, and closer to EX+/NM-
Many of the imperfections found on a VG+ Record are more obvious on a VG record. That said, VG records — which usually sell for no more than 25 percent of a an NM record — are among the biggest bargains in record collecting, because moost of the “big money” goes for more perfect copies. For many listeners, a VG record or sleeve will be worth the money.
VG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail.
When played, a VG record has surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and ending. But the noise won’t overpower the music otherwise. Many collectors who have jukeboxes will use VG records in them and not think twice. They remain a fine listening experience, just not the same as if it were in better shape.
VG covers will have many signs on human handling. Ring wear in the middle or along the edges of the cover, where the edge of a record would reside, is obvious; it may appear on all three sides, though it won’t be obvious upon looking.
We are collectors and we want you to get your collectibles in the best condition possible, therefore, unlike many sellers on the great eBay
WE NEVER REMOVE VINYL FROM ITS SLEEVE AND LEAN IT AGAINST ANYTHING
nor do we
REMOVE THE VINYL RECORDS FROM THEIR SLEEVES & LAY THEM DOWN ON A SURFACE TO DISPLAY THEM.
We're rather amazed when we take the care that we do with the vinyl we sell, and then see another seller make more money selling the exact same item
in worse shape, and their picture shows the record out of its cover and out of its sleeve lying on a surface! I believe the "problem" is that we try to describe every item
in detail so that you'll know exactly what you're getting. Many sellers will simply say "excellent" "mint" or "great", having no idea what those terms mean in relation to the Goldmine Grading System. We tell you exactly what you're getting, and even if it's been to hell and back, we still treat it like it's a piece of your mother. Sometimes it's the detail that screws things up, I think. If we were vague, like most sellers, you'd just see the name of the band, the title, and a picture, and you'd buy it. Oh well.
Many sellers seem to have a disregard for the items they're selling and only care about making their pictures look pretty. We only care about the pieces we sell. And you. So you'll see that the records are displayed IN THEIR ORIGINAL SLEEVES, with just a hint of the vinyl showing so that you can see what color they are. If you want to see the vinyl pulled from its sleeve and resting on a dusty surface, look at someone else's auction or blog and then come back to our page and buy our copy in PERFECT SHAPE.
