Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. .....STILL IN ORIGINAL FACTORY CELLOPHANE

ORIGINAL 1966 first pressing of a highly underestimated crafty jangle guitar rock gem loaded up with catchy melody infused gems...

The Critters were a successful American crafted & smooth garage-rock group who delivered several hits, and/or should have been hits, in the mid 1960s.... This Lp is very similar in sound to that of the NIGHTCRAWLERS "Little Black Egg" Lp meets "The Kitchen Cinq" LP

The CRITTERS formed in New Jersey when singer-guitarist Don Ciccone and Bob Podstawski joined local group the Vibratones, comprising Jim Ryan (lead guitar), Ken Gorka (bass), Jack Decker (drums), and Chris Darway (keyboards). They named themselves The Critters in emulation of similar band names like The Animals.

In 1966, this melodic New York garage group released their first album, scoring a hit with the early-Turtles-esque "Younger Girl" and then chalking up their only Top 20 single with the original gem, "Mr. Dieingly Sad." The group's soft harmonies and pop inflected garage folk-rock were in a considerably stronger vein than most of their Kama Sutra labelmates. Recording quite a few singles and an LP for Kama Sutra from 1965 to 1967, their groovy pop/rock sound with jangle guitar structures are filled with catchy melodies that grow with repeat plays, especially their best singles which made the charts. After a final Top 40 hit in 1967 ("Don't Let the Rain Fall Down on Me"), principal songwriter Don Ciccone was drafted into the Vietnam war, and the group struggled without their leader on with a couple albums for the Project 3 label before splitting. Thus, The Critters best album is this first one...The Critters, like Chicago's Cryan' Shames, might have gone on to bigger and better things if the military draft, label snafus, and public perception hadn't short-circuited the creative life span of the group. As it is, they'll make you smile on a rainy day. There's something really valuable in that. If you dig the sound of the Turtles 'It Ain't Me Babe' first album, check this out. Personnel: - Don Ciccone - guitar, vocals - Jim Ryan - lead guitar - Ken Gorka - bas - Jack Decker - drums - Chris Darway - keyboards
