STUNNING MINT = RARE ADVANCED RELEASE WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL

TOP CLEAN *BEST* COPY FOUND........Original 1971 first pressing 2xLP set in thick gatefold...the apex of highs for many concerning Colosseum in their unleashed live-in-your-face showcase...the original 39 year old collectible ptressing on olive green WB label...Musically, the record represents a great composition of classic progressive rock combined with blues and jazz influence. The vocals are truly powerful. The use of organ (Hammond) and keyboards are really prevalent with soaring sounds. Jon Hiseman is one of the best prog drummers, here, a driving force. The guitar work by (*ex-'Bakerloo') Dave Clempson is really stunning. The reeds also great to observe throughout and add to the stream of great music delivered here...

The first song 'Rope ladder to the moon' is fantastic. The deep bluesy voice of Chris Farlowe is to remark. Bassist Mark Clarke reminds of Jack Bruce. Dave Greenslade has a very unique and complex way to play the keys. 'Walking in the park' is a blues classic written by Graham Bond who played with Jon Hiseman for a while. The track contains an exciting vocal duel between Farlowe and Mark Clarke. On 'Skelington' - not available on their studio albums- Dave Clempson delivers an outstanding guitar solo and meets Jimi Hendrix - and Farlowe - wails- wow!

"Earthquake and smog are driving me out of town - oh, get me away from Los Angeles" - it seems they didn't have made good experiences with this city. They compensate it musically with a special psychedelic touch. And so 'Lost Angeles' for many fans is absolutely the highlight - excellent vibraphone, Jon Hiseman in best form.

'Colosseum Live' is an album which should have a place in every progressive collection. The only thing that would be better, would have been to SEE & HEAR them in concert...
