This is the rarely seen USA 1ST PRESSING of THE SEARCHERS LP "Meet The Searchers" on the 1ST ISSUE "KAPP" Black and Blue label with two red "Major's Hats" on the sides. This label variation was issued from 1962 to the middle of 1964. From 1964 to 1971, an all black Kapp label was used. This album was issued in the Middle of 1964 at the end of the Label's run so 99% of the albums produced have the later all black Kapp label. In fact, this is the only one I've ever seen with the black and blue label (and this is true of all the other collectors I have talked with). The album comes with the original inner sleeve. This is a STEREO PRESSING!
The record vinyl appears to be "Unplayed" with two long paper burrs inside the spindle hole that should drop off once it is placed on a turntable. The vinyl is shiny and glossy. Just a beautiful piece of work! MINT 9!!!
The record cover has shrink wrap attached and is in gorgeous condition with square corners and a beautiful white front and back. The colors that are on the front are rich and deep. The seams and spine are in NEAR-MINT 8/9 condition and the printing on the spine is sharp and clear and complete. An overall rare Searchers album in highly collectable condition.
Fact: When asked in 1964 while on tour in France who their favorite groups were, THE BEATLES replied " THE SEARCHERS and The Rolling Stones."
