PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 18,000+++++ plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original first pressing vinyl first released in 1968 of a champion pre - STEPPENWOLF recording. Much better than remembered and a great one for re-discovery or first time listen ~~ it is live in San Francisco when the band was called THE SPARROW just months later they changed their name to Steppenwolf ... and the reason this album goes by Steppenwolf is to capitalize on their fame of the late 60's, but it's really the same guys...but known in 1967 as The Sparrow...here, you'll find them highly electrified, burning the blues, fuzzed-up & howling...

Before Steppenwolf was formed in 1967 several of it’s members had been in the Canadian rock band known as the “Sparrow”. The Sparrow had migrated from Toronto, to New York City to Los Angeles, and finally to the San Francisco bay area. Amongst various venues there, which included the Avalon and Fillmore ballrooms, the Sparrow played a club called the Matrix. In 1967, unbeknownst to the group, the club manager recorded a couple of the Sparrow shows. These recordings were released by ABC Dunhill in 1969 because STEPPENWOLF were busy touring and were not ready for the next studio album. While the recording quality of the “Early Steppenwolf” is raw, it is very clear, and captures the band exactly as they sounded -- in all their glory ... and contains a wealth of cool garage blues tunes and what is truly a collectors item, a side long 20 minute psychedelic version of “The Pusher.
