UPDATE:    Good news!   The buyer who tried to mar our reputation, as well as others, has now been removed from the eBay community.  It remains to be seen whether his so-called friends will continue his dirty work, but as of now, we are elated to report that his other two eBay IDs are also suspended.   Thank you to the many sellers and customers who offered their support, as that helped tremendously during our efforts to get the job done.  Now on to more pleasant things...

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.  Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. Priority shipping rates required on any order $200+ ~ Also, in the best interest of all of us, safe Express shipping rates on any order totaling $400+

Original 1971 first pressing by the gritty HARD rockers known as Detroit, who formed out of the ashes of the DETROIT WHEELS ...Detroit are led by ex Detroit Wheel howling vocalist Mitch Ryder ... but the equal hero is dynamic guitarist Steve Hunter who went on to fame with name superstar bands in the '70s....

DETROIT opens with the roar of Long Neck Goose and singer Mitch Ryder returns to Detroit with the band named after his city. Detroit the group rocks with gritty R&B while Mitch howls with the best of them on this, their lone record released in 1971. Includes the classic underground hit version of Lou Reed's Rock n Roll, plus Is It You (Or Is It Me), Gimme Shelter and the slow blues of Drink. The group also featured guitarist Steve Hunter and was produced by Bob Ezrin   David Carson's "Grit, Noise, and Revolution" more or less tells the story of this band and the bad luck that befell it. In the summer of 1970, they just couldn't catch a break. The few who came to see them were treated to some serious take-no-prisoners music: Imagine Little Richard fronting Led Zeppelin, only instead of Jimmy Page you get the virtuousic Steve "Deacon" Hunter. And instead of English boys pretending to be outlaws, a band of actual bikers - and they did put out a menacing vibe live in concert.

"Long Neck Goose" and "Rock & Roll" are tracks you need to listen to, and they're worth every penny. Mitch Ryder never had a band this good again.   Detroit was a latter-day incarnation of Mitch Ryder's Detroit Wheels; formed in 1970 after the singer returned to the Motor City following a stint in Memphis recording with Booker T. and the MGs, the new group reunited Ryder with his former Detroit Wheels drummer John Badanjek, and also featured dual guitarists Steve Hunter and Brett Tuggle, bassist W.R. Cooke and organist Harry Phillips. An energetic, R&B-influenced outfit firmly in the tradition of Ryder's past hard edged projects, Detroit issued their lone self-titled LP on Paramount in 1971, scoring a major radio hit with a gritty rendition of "Rock and Roll" which so pleased its writer (lou Reed) that he later recruited guitarist Hunter to join his own backing band. As throat problems began plaguing Ryder more and more, he was forced to quit singing in 1972, and his relocation to the Denver area a year later dashed any hopes of a second Detroit album; Fellow Amboy Dukes & Cactus mega front man singer Rusty Day then assumed control of the group, guiding the unit until its 1974 break-up.
