Original Italian pressing on the RODI EDIZIONI MUSICALI label (LP RDN 0107), from circa 1980. Obscure private press oddity of killer psychedelic disco / strange afro lounge / spooky synth cues and other oddball electronic cum time-stretching mood music. Creative / addictive and totally bizarre themes made for Italian film and television by the multi-instrumentalist from Bologna, Enzo Minuti. Features the futuristic disco synth and proto house rhythms of ELECTRONIC OBSESSION and TENSION amongst other infectious themes. The TROPICAL OBSESSION track with filtered Barigozzi style flute and downtempo, afro cosmic refrain is actually an alternative version of Arapuru from his Los Minus Hernandez Latin Friends Library and Black Shadow single on Italvox label (a 7inch we quietly sold to London dealers more than a decade ago ;) The track DARK SUSPENSE has elements of the zombie horror film synth sound / carefree cum trashy hippie disco vibe to FINALE / percussive beats and treated keyboards on INSEGUIMENTO and our soundclip finishes with the exaggerated tape manipulation of the comedy influenced PETTEGOLEZZI with demented voices / frantic drum machine and flashes of Arabian cum oriental rock guitar. We first got to hear this crazy experimental Library from Walerio some years back, then it was never seen again anywhere until very recently. If you seek the leftfield sound of Ezy Minus, then the whole of the 'suspence' side should blow you away. Great for DJs. Booming production sound. Spaced-out, synthetic funk and lounge with balearic / tropical nuances. Striking, minimalist sleeve artwork by the label owner too. Rare Library Lp!!! Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall, regardless of a few hairlines / faint paper scuffs and some faint old residue streaks from the original pressing process. Some light surface noises. Booming production sound. Item taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played a couple of times before the recording of the soundclip. The soft card sleeve is closer to M- condition overall and still retains its original shrinkwrap. Minimal wear in places. Some tears in the shrink to back sleeve. Ding to bottom left corner at spine side. Sharp looking item. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Library Lp!!!
