ITEM: Very Rare and in demand vinyl LP album. Recorded in Europe, Mischa Elman plays Mendelssohn Concerto in e minor, and Lalo Symphonie Espagnole. The Vienna State Opera Orchestra is conducted by Vladimir Golschmann. Recorded on the Vanguard Deep Groove STEREOLAB Records label, catalog number VSD-2047 (STEREO). Matrix stamper numbers are KO8Y-2403-1A; and KO8Y-2404-1
COMMENTS/CONDITION: This LP came from a private collection. It is not a beat up record bought at a yard sale. The record was visually graded, and test played. Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. If you are not familiar with that system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.
Vinyl is in VG/VG+ condition. There are no warps, cracks, deep scratches, or groove wear. A close visual inspection, under a bright source, revealed some light scuff and hairline marks which are cosmetic in nature, and do not affect the playing or listening pleasure of the recordings. On my older system, both sides played quietly with no irritating background noise, skips, or repeats. NOTE: Playback quality will vary from system to system. The above comments are included strictly as reference, and are not a statement as to the results you may experience on your equipment.
Both labels are in very good condition with no tears, peeling edges, writing, or stains. The center hole is perfectly round, with no evidence of abusive playing.
Inner sleeve is the original Vanguard studio sleeve.
Cover is in VG- condition. There are no "cut-out" holes, notches, clipped corners, stickers, labels, or writing. The colors and graphics remain crisp and bright with no fading. The top and left seams are cleanly split full length, and HAVE NOT been ruined by someone attempting to patch them with cheap tape. There are light scuffs and chipping present, and there is a small 3/4 inch x 1 inch rip in the bottom front paper overlay. The bottom left corner has a crease line, and there is some age tanning on the back panel.
This LP is quite scarce, and seldom becomes available for auction. A similar LP with a very good cover and graded higher by the seller, was sold in September on eBay for $125.00. Because of the flaws present on this one, I am listing it at a very attractive LOW starting bid.
