Misfits - 3 Hits from Hell promo poster.  About 18 1/2 inches wide by 22 3/4 inches high.  Condition is quite obviously not that great: has been folded, corners torn, tacked up, taped, and such over the years by at least 3 owners (please check the photoset linked below for more detailed pictures).  I acquired this in 1994 in about the same condition you see it in from someone who said he bought it from a employee (or former employee) of a record store in Milwaukee, WI, a few years earlier.   My understanding is these were given out to stores to promote the record and not intended for sale, but if someone knows different please let me know (***added more info below).  I've had it stored flat in a poster frame since around 2000.

***I just spoke to a friend from Milwaukee who says the sticker remnant on the back of the poster is from Atomic Records, a now defunct record store.  He thinks it is a price sticker, so this poster was probably at least tagged for sale at some point even if a store employee bought or took it.  Confirms the origin story I was told, and I have no idea why I never bothered to think about until now.

2 points of clarification:

1. This auction will run its course.  Please don't message me offers and ask me to end it early because I will not cancel people's bids and violate ebay policies to do so.

2.  Someone said this poster is a "bootleg" due to the shading around the eyes being different (darker) than original 1981 promo posters.  I doubt that "bootleg" is the accurate term given the story behind it (which I trust) and the beat up condition I got it in.  It was definitely produced in the 80s (the guy I got it from in '94 said he had had it for about 5 years, secondhand, and I trust that to be accurate), but I can't say exactly what year it is from.  Looking at the info available online (none from bandmembers, unfortunately), it looks to me that there were 2 versions of the poster produced at different times, so this is most likely best termed a variant or reprint (perhaps from the second pressing of the record in '86?).  No matter what, I'm not trying to pull anything over on anyone; this is a rare poster from the 1980s, most likely produced by Plan 9.
