Description
THIS IS THE 1964 “MISSISSIPPI DELTA BLUES” LP BY THE LEGENDARY MISSISSIPPI BLUESMAN FRED MCDOWELL AND IS IN MINT CONDITION! THE LP IS ON THE UK FONTANA LABEL, AND IS THE UK RELEASE OF THE US ARHOOLIE LP. FRED WAS REDISCOVERED AND RECORDED IN THE EARLY SIXTIES AFTER APPEARING ON SOME FIELD RECORDINGS OF THE 1950s MADE BY ALAN LOMAX. I BOUGHT THE LP NEW AS SOON AS IT CAME OUT AND HAVE LOOKED AFTER IT EVER SINCE. I SAW FRED PLAY ON A UK TOUR AND HE WAS AMAZING! FINDING THIS LP IN THIS CONDITION IS QUITE RARE! THE VINYL IS ABSOLUTELY MINT. THE COVER IS EXCELLENT AND THE WHOLE ITEM IS IN AMAZING CONDITION FOR ITS AGE. DONT MISS THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY!
The Catalogue Number is 688 806 ZL on the FONTANA label and is a MONO UK pressing.
The record labels are in STUNNING condition with NO wear and NO writing. There are ONLYA FEW LIGHT spindle marks. THIS RECORD HAS HARDLY BEEN PLAYED AND THEN ONLY ON TOP QUALITY HI-FI EQUIPMENT. The vinyl is in SUPERB condition with NO scratches, NO scuff marks and NO signs of wear. THE RECORD STILL RETAINS EVERY BIT OF ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK! The record must grade MINT! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way! Brilliant!!
The cover is in EXCELLENT condition! It has NO wear to the spine or the top and bottom edges and NO rubbing. The opening edges are straight with some MODERATE edge wear. The front of the cover has a VERY LIGHT 11cm diagonal crease at the bottom left corner. There is a LIGHT 1cm vertical crease 5cm below the top left corner. There is a 1.5cm horizontal crease 5cm to the right of the top left corner. There is a vertical 2cm crease 3cm to the left of the bottom right corner. There are NO thumb creases. The back of the cover is as new apart from some VERY VERY MILD discolouration. There is SLIGHT wear to the EXTREME corners of the front of the cover. The cover retains ALL of its original glossy look and must grade EXCELLENT if not better! Amazing for its age!
THIS LP AND COVER IS VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION! DONT MISS OUT!
For packaging I use strong record boxes with extra stiffeners to stop damage and bends to the cover. All LPs are sent out with the record packed separately from the original cover to stop splits and damage to the cover.
