Description

This is the Direct Disc recording of the album by Bill Berry titled "For Duke" (M&K RT 101) (1978).------ M&K was a well known stereo equipment manufacturer in the '70's and '80's. They also released audiophile recordings that were originally intended to demonstrate their equipment; but they became so popular that they started selling them as regular releases. They specialized in Direct to Disc LP's and later did some digital LP's ------ This now famous recording from the TAS List has always been an audiophile favorite. ***** **** This is a very nice copy and play graded as Very Good by the Goldmine standard which is reflected in the low starting bid.. mostly due to a tick that happens six or seven times on the first cut of side one. For the most part a very quiet copy. If you can live with a few ticks here is your chance to get a copy of this audiophile classic at a bargain price. I think it is much closer to VG+ but with a few scuffs and ticks I didn't feel I could honestly rate it that high.

Very Good (VG)
Many of the imperfections found on a VG+ record are more obvious on a VG record. That said, VG records — which usually sell for no more than 25 percent of a NM record — are among the biggest bargains in record collecting, because most of the “big money” goes for more perfect copies. For many listeners, a VG record or sleeve will be worth the money.

VG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail. When played, a VG record has surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and ending. But the noise will not overpower the music otherwise.

Includes insured media shipping US address. Other means or other countries pay actual cost.

Will be professionally packed in LP mailer with poly sleeve for album cover, record removed from cover to avoid damage to cover, and extra padding.
