Description

THIS is not the place to go into a full-bore expose of the life, loves, and deaths (!) of the beautiful, tempestuous, bi-sexual LIBBY HOLMAN (1904-1971).  Suffice it to say, she left a trail of broken hearts and cold bodies during her career as a Broadway sireen, and she even lived to tell the tale!

SEE her Wikipedia Page!  She even has one on Facebook!

She did manage to make a few records in her career, mostly for Brunswick, singing in a coarse but charming voice - kind of the audio equivalent of the coarse but charming Jean Harlow.  On this one, she performs her signature torch song, "MOANIN' LOW," and neatly covers Ethel Waters' iconic hit, "AM I BLUE?"

This original 1929 Brunswick 4445 is in very nice E condition.

*****

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.”  I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
