When Matthew Katz (Moby Grape’s original manager) and The Group parted their ways (under quite unfriendly circumstances), Mr. Katz walked away with the original master tapes of the Group’s classic studio albums (which, alas, he still owns and partially controls). In the late ‘70s, Matthew Katz reissued all Moby Grape albums (long out of print by that point) in their original covers, by using those original master tapes. These titles sound awesome and are on par with (if not better than) the original Columbia pressings in every way.  Finding an audiophile version of this album is practically unheard of.  Finding a still sealed original copy?!?! Forget it – not even a HOPE!!! This may be the last one you will ever see. Bid now or weep your heart out later!!!

(b)          The record is  apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           The record (LIKE ALL SAN FRANCISCO SOUND AUDIOPHILE PRESSINGS)  is pressed on a beautiful, high-quality, virgin-grade vinyl, which is usually used for audiophile, extended-dynamic-range, half-speed mastered and connoisseur pressings.

(d)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
