MODERN SOUND QUARTET
Original 1978 RING label STEREOMONO pressing, cat. RLP 504, Italy.
STELLAR Italian Library recording by maestro Oscar Rocchi's ensemble MODERN SOUND QUARTET, also behind other Library grails like ERBE SELVATICHE and hailing from Edizioni Minstrel publishing group. Oustanding, brilliant and very very underrated session with extraordinary Disco Funk cuts, spacey Jazz-Funk goodness and dreamy Lounge Funk movements. A very desirable jam recorded at Giancarlo Barigozzi's studio, including a special and talented line-up composed of maestro Rocchi at keyboards, Luigi Cappellotto's killing bass, Andrea Surdi at the drums and Ernesto Verardi on funky guitars. Enjoy the insane funky loop of "SCORPION" with its driving and totally mental Disco-Funk groove, the spacey Synth Disco "TAURUS" with some amazing cosmic Jazz, and the Disco frenzy "LION" with spacey wah-wah, overpowering bass and keyboard. More soothing vibes from the amazing Fusion beat of "VIRGIN" with exotic guitar flavour, the exotic Disco-Funk "ARIES" and the outstanding panoramic Funk theme "THE GEMINI". Lastly, "ACQUARIUS" includes a totally insane downtempo Hip Hop loop. INCREDIBLE LP, essential stuff!
