Description
Forty two years ago, in 1978, southern rockers Molly Hatchet released their rockin' debut album. Self titled 'Molly Hatchet' is a hard rock masterpiece! It blew everyone away, and Molly Hatchet became "little brothers" to bands like Lynryd Skynyrd and ZZ Top.
The album's cover is a painting by Frank Frazetta, titled 'Death Dealer', and has popped up in other places like the illustrated magazine 'Heavy Metal'. It's classic Frazetta; who, of course, went on to do a few more covers for Molly Hatchet, as well as other bands. Amazingly enough, this copy has remained SEALED, for OVER FORTY YEARS! Still in its original shrinkwrap, and intact! The only flaw is a tiny tear or two in the shrinkwrap. But since it's factory sealed, this has never been opened or played!
A rare find, in any condition! But since this has never been opened, the value just keeps going up. The first Molly Hatchet picture disc is the rarest of them all, as it was the smallest number made. Subsequent releases were made in larger batches, and are a bit more common.
Also, please remember, picture discs made in the 70s and 80s were created for promotional purposes. In other words, this is almost guaranteed to sound terrible. The modern era picture discs sound great. The older ones tend to sound bad. Just so we're clear on that aspect...and I cannot vouch for the sound of my picture discs, as I never play them.
Grab this vintage Molly Hatchet debut album on picture disc, sealed, and in perfect condition! This bad boy will NOT be around for long!!
Please contact me with any questions or concerns. If there happens to be any issues or problems, just let me know, and I'll make it right. A note to remember on shipping: though Priority Mail is faster, it still might take longer than expected. Media Mail is running at a snail's pace these days. I have NO control over shipping, so please understand this if your item is running late. Both shipping rates come with tracking. Sorry, no international shipping at this time. It's just too risky, and too slow. I hope to offer international shipping again soon. Thanks for stopping by, and be safe!
