THE MONACLES-45-"I Can’t Win” b/w “Heartaches For Me”-Variety Production # VP 301-Killerkool, MONSTER & HOLY GRAIL 1966 West Coast Garage-Punk. No need to describe, both sides have appeared many times over the decades on several comps, most notably Tim’s BACK FROM THE GRAVE (LP Vol. 3; CD vol. 1). I was never able to pinpoint the origin of this group/record so my assumption that it is a West Coast record is just that. Pressed on translucent gold/yellow vinyl (see photo). I have seen variations of this record-this has a red & silver label, I have seen gold/yellow vinyl pressings like this with a black and silver label, as well as black vinyl with a black label. KILLER RECORD.
Condition: Record is almost VG+, possibly VG; a slight ‘smudge’ or blemish visible in certain light angles; also some very slight wear on outer dead wax…B side is ALMOST VG- but borders on a G+; like A side, some light edge wear on outer dead wax (more on this side than on the A side), as well as a surface scuff and a couple of slight surface scratches visible in certain light angles. Background noise evident at times, especially on B side, though the barbaric content covers it some of the time.
Label clean both sides ... some very slight wear on A side (see photo)
