PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! Chicago's New Colony Six originally emerged as a tough, British Invasion-styled outfit prominently featuring Farfisa organ and a novel (at the time) Lesley guitar. They made TWO fantastic Lp's and a score of collectible 45's. Here's their SECOND Lp and one of their best featuring fuzz nuggets...
Probably the very best all-time favorite of the '60's Chicagoland Groups was The New Colony Six. They were the ones that broke the ground for all of the other bands to follow ... The Buckinghams, The Shadows Of Knight, The Cryan' Shames, The Ides Of March, The American Breed ... ALL of these other local groups followed in their footsteps ... and made HUGE impressions on the Chicagoland Charts once The New Colony Six paved the way with their "breakthrough" single "I Confess" in late 1965.
After they made their way out west seeking fame and fortune, they returned to Chicago dejected when turned down by the major labels (who obviously were not listening.) The band found their own success quickly after their parebts pooled together enough money to start a small independent label (SENTAR) ... soon the New Colony Six were all over Chicago area radio...and the hit charts.
The difference, of course, is that Paul Revere and the Raiders got signed by Dick Clark and ended up hosting a daily afternoon music fest called "Where The Action Is" ... and The New Colony Six came home depressed and dejected ... only to find their own success some months later when some of the band members' parents pooled their money to start a small, independent record label in order to press up copies of their latest efforts.
Soon they were all over the radio ... and Chicagoland charts. Some of these records even crossed over to become national hits. And while they may always be best remembered for their late '60's ballads "I Will Always Think About You" and "Things I'd Like To Say", the band began as a TRUE garage band in every sense of the genre. Their first two Lp's reflect the "killer" garage sound dominated by Leslie guitar & Farfisa organ... 1967 SECOND LP by the NEW COLONY SIX:::::
