                      THE GRATEFUL DEAD                  (1967 First Lp)            Gold-Warner Brothers - Mono-W-1689   VERY RARE 1967 vinyl original in clean collectible condition!!!   Very first DEAD Lp, unleashed within the SUMMER OF LOVE Hippies scene in San Francisco, it represents the first vinyl in a long long stretch of things to come by one of the figureheads of the SF psych scene of the sixties! one of their best early Lp's filled with powerful tracks like the psychedelic-drivers "Cream Puff War", and "Cold Rain & Snow" plus acid-tinged 10+ mins "Viola Lee Blues" ...plus all the others alike! The early combination of whirling farfisa organ & Garcia's electric leads make for a great combination all through out. Their most unique sounding album, it still retains a cool timeless groove throughout!   MONO SIXTIES CLASSIC VINYL PRESSINGS ARE INCREASINGLY HARD TO COME BY...the Mono issue represents an entirely different sound mix to that of the also, but not near as rare, stereo version. The monaural mix also gives a bold deep punch to the production which you don't get with the stereo issue.   NICE CLEAN COVER, the front, a psychedelic-art group collage is M-, the back, will call VG++ because of a small name way off to the side near the back pocket opening. Otherwise, very solid, no seam splits, super nice!
