Description

VERY RARE Detroit Girl/Northern Soul DJ White Label Promo 45 by The Debutantes. Songs are: "Strong Foundation"/"Shake A Tail Feather. Original DJ White Label Promo on Standout #601 (I have been told a stock issue was never released). Excellent girl band. Great production by Andre Williams on "Strong Foundation", "Shake A Tail Feather" was penned by Andre Williams, arranged by the great Joe Hunter, produced by Bruce Scott and Bob d'Orleans. Condition is VG- (5). Vinyl has scratches, some deeper on Shake A Tail Feather side, has surface noise but music is still very loud. No skips. Labels are free of any writing or stickers. A superb rarity that does not come up for auction very often. According to fellow local collectors here in Detroit, I've been told only about 50 - 100 copies of this were ever made, think of how few are actually still available. Debutantes existed from 1965-1967. After an extensive search of the web the only dealer I could find offering this monster was John Manship who is currently offering a copy on Gemm for $314.00. Grading Scale

10: Mint Perfect record, clean gloss, no marks, beautiful in every way. Very few records will make mint.

9: Mint- Very clean, only a few light marks. A great record.

8: Condition between 7 and 9.

7: VG+ Used, but not abused. Light scratches only. Should play, and look very nice with minimal surface noise.

6: VG Still a nice record. Looks a bit used, light scratches, no gouges, still plays well, some surface noise.

5: VG- A bit rough but will play ok. Fills the collection.

4: G Plays very rough. Has multiple scratches. What a bargain!!

3-2-1: It only goes down from here.
