MONTY

Grind Mode

1985 Music

blue vinyl 12" Cat: ONEF 079
Rel: 22 Sep 25
Drum & Bass / Jungle Side 1 - Track 1. Grind Mode Side 1 - Track 2. Praise Side 2 - Track 1. Lethal Side 2 - Track 2. Remedy

Neurofunk meets echoes of hip-hop on French producer Monty's new EP 'Grind Mode', a brash beatmaker with nothing Toulouse. After his last outing with fellow tune trusser Trail, 'In The Cut/And Here We Go', Monty now turns his hand to serious, ultra-metallic soundworld, from the title track to 'Lethal', with a fatally silvery cover design resembling the helmet of a Predator in abstracted space. Distinctively brushed snares, a commonality for neuro, are heard throughout, overlaying turbulent fluxes of grunting, gnawing and growling bass.
