Description
Mosaic box # 126 is a 6 LP set of the complete Johnny Hodges Sessions as a leader from 1951 to 1955. The music contained in the set (62 tracks) was mostly released on the Clef, Norgran, or Verve labels. Musicians also appearing on the set include Lawrence Brown, Al McKibbon, Emmett Berry, Sonny Greer, Red Callender, Flip Phillips, Ben Webster, JC Heard, and many more. The set was issued in 1989. The vinyl is absolutely pristine - no marks whatsoever. I would be surprised to learn it had ever been played. No spindle marks, no fingerprints, no scratches. The box is VG+ with just the tiniest of the beginnings of a seam split on the Right center of the bottom of the box. The previous owner taped a 1" piece of tape over a sticker on which he wrote the letters "LP". I am not going to try to remove this in case it bothers the set itself...I'll let the buyer make that decision. The set is in the low 2000s of a limited edition of 7500. On Oct-11-09 at 08:20:14 PDT, seller added the following information:the taped sticker is on the left spine, the spine visible if filed in a standard LP shelf - spine out. The 16 page book, with notes by Stanley Dance, is intact with no traces of abuse. VG++.
