MOSAIC MQ6-162: The Complete Blue Note Lee Morgan Fifties Sessions. Here is your chance to buy this deleted 6 LP box set containing all the music recorded by this fine modern jazz trumpet player for the legendary New York label 1956-58. These dates were originally issued on 6 LPs. Morgan surrounded himself with a mixture of soon-to-be 'greats' like HORACE SILVER, HANK MOBLEY, CURTIS FULLER, BOBBY TIMMONS, BENNY GOLSON and PEPPER ADAMS; almost complete unknowns like alto players, CLARENCE "C" SHARP and KENNY RODGERS; and on one session the tragic SONNY CLARK. . As usual, Mosaic has trawled the archives and managed to unearth a couple of previously unissued alternative takes, plus a formerly rejected performance. The sturdy presentation box also includes a beautifully produced booklet containing stunning photographs, detailed notes on the sessions as well as a full discography. The condition of both the discs and the box is 'as new'.
